The Geographical Society of Northern Finland publishes two scientific open access series, Nordia Geographical Publications and Nordia Tiedonantoja. The series are also published by the Geography Research Unit of the University of Oulu. In 2014, we moved to full open access publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nordia Geographical Publications\u00a0<\/a>(NGP) is intended for academic postgraduate or other research. The series also publishes the Society's yearbook, the NGP Yearbook, which serves as the Society's member journal. Articles published in the NGP Yearbook are peer-reviewed using a double-blind procedure. The Delegation of the Scientific Societies has granted the NGP series a peer review label, which has been introduced in the NGP series since 2016. At the same time, the NGP Series has committed to comply with the conditions for the use of the label. Nordia Geographical Publications has been ranked by the Delegation of the Union of Finnish Learned Societies of Sciences at level 1 in the \u00a0Julkaisufoorumi<\/a>-classification. Prior to 1995, the series was published under the name Nordia Publications. For each of the publications published since the reform, more detailed descriptions and bibliographic information are provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the Nordia Tiedonanto series, surveys and reports made in the geography research unit of the University of Oulu are published.
