The Society

Welcome to the website of the Northern Finland Geographical Society (PSMS ry)! The Society has been active since 1963 and its aim is to promote interaction between geographers in Northern Finland, the dissemination of geographical information and accessibility. In addition, the Society aims to raise awareness of geography and geographical knowledge and contributes to the social debate on important and topical geographical issues. The society works in close cooperation with the Geography Research Unit of the University of Oulu and the student resource organisation Atlas ry. The only geography centre in Northern Finland is located at the University of Oulu.
